The development of junior cricket at Solihull Blossomfield is one of our main priorities as we recognise how important it is, for the future success and sustainability of our club, that we have home grown talent in our senior teams.

We are committed to expanding our Junior Boys and Girls Sections, particularly by increasing our involvement with local schools and giving children the opportunity to learn how to play cricket correctly and have fun during the learning process.

If you would like to find out what our coaching and Junior programme is like, please get in touch. All details available on our Contact Us page.

We have close contact with 6 local schools and will support the national Chance to Shine programme with coaching and holding festivals during May and June.

  • Boys Cricket
We coach boys from 6 to 16 years of age throughout the year, providing the following:

  • 10 weeks of indoor coaching from October to December for 2 hours on Fridays.
  • 10 weeks of indoor coaching from January to March for 2 hours on Fridays

Boys Under15s  – John Boyce

Boys Under 13   –  to be confirmed for 2019

Boys Under 11s – Andy Weston

At the Under 9 level, we enter local soft ball cricket festivals for both boys and girls.

  • Girls Cricket
We formed our Girls Section in 2013, offering structured girls coaching in the area from the ages of 6 to 16 – and we have successfully coached 9 girls to county standard at the last Warwickshire trials.
  • John Boyce has led the Girls Section since its formation and has consistently ensured that at least 30% of our girls are selected for county squads.
  • In 2018, we won the Under 13 Warwickshire Girls Hardball league..
  • The Girls Coaching team is led by John and comprises:-
  • John Boyce
  • Delvin Alleyne
  • Jack Felton

We were one of the first clubs in Warwickshire to receive the ECB ClubMark Accreditation in the county and this has been renewed every 3 years. It is awarded to our Club because we have demonstrated that we are fully equipped to look after youngsters and promote cricket to the youth in our community. We have a Club Welfare Officer (Lynn Clark) and a Deputy (Katy Morrison) and implement agreed standards for the welfare and protection of children and have sufficient coaches and assistants to look after all of our juniors.

We greatly appreciate all the support and assistance from the parents of our juniors – we have a dedicated group of coaches but are always looking for more help in a range of different tasks – if you would like to volunteer, please get in touch with Liz Steventon on 07909 912525.
