Thoughts For The Season 2015/16
We had a very successful season within the junior setup last year and gained lots of new players, with more than 30 children attending training each week. We are now keen to continue to build on the good work, increasing the junior section further by attracting more children to hockey.
This year we have planned more games against other local teams and are looking to put out a range of sides from under 10s to under 18s.
As a club we understand that it is key to build a strong junior section to enable us to feed the older players through our Badger team into our adult sides, leading to the whole club benefiting from the hard work put in at a junior level.
Currently we have lots of our junior players working within the England Hockey setup at the junior development centres (JDC), the junior academy centres (JAC) and also at the junior regional performance centres (JRPC). We are keen as a club to get many more players involved within the system this year.
Solihull Blossomfield also holds the ClubsFirst status. The club also has a wide range of coaches that are qualified though England hockey and that all hold a DBS.
So why not come along on a Sunday morning whatever age or ability you are and give us a try.
Sessions are held every Sunday at Lode Heath School, Solihull at 10:30 – 12:00.

ClubsFirst for Solihull Blossomfield Hockey Club
Clubs that have achieved the ClubsFirst award are recognised as working towards providing a Safe, Effective and Child-Friendly Hockey Environment. They also receive the CLUBMARK award. County Sports Partnerships and funding agencies are increasingly recognising these clubs and choosing to work with them as a priority.
Having gained this recognition we are working hard to expand our membership. We will be working with local schools to encourage more youngsters into the sport of hockey. We are planning to expand our Junior section to include teams at U10, U12 and U14 level on Sundays with progression to play Badgers hockey on a Saturday to enable a path through to senior hockey.
We are a strong family club and by expanding our Junior section we hope it will encourage their parents back to a sport they previously enjoyed.
