External leagues and competitions
Winter season
During the winter season there is still an abundance of league tennis available at the Club. The Club has teams in the Warwickshire men’s, ladies’ and mixed leagues and two ladies’ veterans teams and one men’s veteran team in the Warwickshire veterans leagues.
Winter matches are generally played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Match fees are £2 per player home and away.
Summer season
In the summer season the Club enters teams in the Birmingham Area Lawn Tennis leagues. There are four men’s teams playing in divisions 3, 3, 5 and 8 and four ladies’ teams in divisions 1, 2, 4 and 4.
Birmingham area matches are generally played weekday evenings. Match fees are £5 per player at home (to cover match suppers) and £3 away.
In addition the Club has two mixed veterans’ teams in the Warwickshire veterans’ competitions. Veterans’ matches are generally played on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
Internal leagues and competitions.
Winter season
Between October and March the Club runs internal ladies’ and mixed floodlit leagues. In the mixed league pairs arrange and play four matches per month and in the ladies league four matches every six weeks. A match consists of two sets and at the end of each period two teams move up a division and two are relegated to a lower division.
Entrance fee is £6 per pair. Floodlit fees are £2 per player for a 1 ½ hour slot.
Summer season.
Between April and September the Club runs the early season and late season tournaments. The early season tournament includes ladies’ singles, men’s singles, ladies’ doubles and men’s doubles where you are drawn a partner and mixed doubles when you can pick your own partner.
The late season tournament comprises mixed doubles, over 40’s mixed and a mixed plate competition where you are drawn with a partner and ladies and men’s doubles where you can pick a partner.
Finals day for the early season tournament is generally mid June and for the late season tournament early September.
Tournament fees are £3 per person per event.
